Ryan Giggs is reportedly being lined up for a return to management at the Class of '92's struggling Salford City.

Manchester United legend Giggs, who along with former team-mates Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and David Beckham owns 10% of the League Two club, hasn't been in the dugout since stepping down as Wales boss in June 2022.

He left his national team role ahead of the domestic abuse trial he was facing after being accused of assaulting former partner Kate Greville. That concluded with a jury unable to reach a verdict, and the charges were dropped after Ms Greville declined to give evidence at the retrial in July.

And according to The Sun, the 49-year-old is ready to step up at Salford if results don't improve under current boss Neil Wood.

The Ammies are into their fifth season in the fourth tier of English football. Wood secured them their highest finish last season as they made the play-offs in seventh place, but they lost to Stockport County in the semi-finals.

Do you think the Class of '92 should pull the trigger? Let us know in the comments section.

In their opening eight games of the new season, Salford have picked up just seven points. Their latest defeat, a 2-0 loss at home to Notts County on Friday (September 15) night, has left them 19th in the table.

Should Wood fail to turn their form around, it's claimed Giggs might well be sent an SOS call. During his four-plus years in charge of Wales he led them to the last 16 of Euro 2020 and had them on track for Qatar World Cup qualification before assistant Rob Page took the reins from him.

It wouldn't be the first time members of the Class of '92 have taken charge of the club they part-own. Scholes and Phil Neville managed one game shortly after taking over at the start of 2015, and the former had a four-week caretaker stint in 2020.
