with the belt not set to be on the line in crossover bout with Francis Ngannou<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Tyson Fury could be forced to defend his WBC belt against AJ or Wilder<\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong>There could be an eliminator between Joshua and Wilder to decide challenger<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fury is set to fight former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in October in Riyadh<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tyson Fury&#8217;s focus on his upcoming fight with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou could be disrupted by a potential challenge to his WBC belt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The Gypsy King&#8217; will take on Ngannou on Ocotber 28 in Riyadh in a much-anticipated crossover bout, but the WBC are seemingly already lining up his next fight.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Star have reported that a title fight with either Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder could be Fury&#8217;s next assignment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 35-year-old has already defended the WBC belt on three occasions since taking it from Wilder in 2020, with the most recent challenge from Derek Chisora seen off late last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There has been frustration among boxing fans that the fight with Ngannou has delayed another title decider.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/10\/16\/75268791-0-image-a-1_1694361538827.jpg\" height=\"472\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tyson Fury could be forced to defend his WBC title in his next fight in the New Year<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/10\/16\/75268797-0-image-a-2_1694361544014.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fury is currently preparing to fight UFC champions Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia in October\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/10\/17\/75268787-0-image-a-18_1694362550105.jpg\" height=\"427\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/10\/17\/75268789-0-image-a-17_1694362550069.jpg\" height=\"427\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>It is likely that Fury will have to face one of Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder<\/p>\n<p>However, it could now create time for a head-to-head between Joshua and Wilder to decide who will take on Fury in the New Year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Joshua&#8217;s recent victory against Robert Helenius has kept his hopes of regaining his titles alive and set up the potential fight with Wilder.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An all-British affair involving Fury and Joshua has long been touted but is yet to come to fruition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wilder has already faced Fury on three occasions, losing the two most recent meetings after their draw in 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The American has not fought since he also defeated Helenius in Ocotber 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After promoter Eddie Hearn claimed it would be unlikely for a Joshua-Wilder fight to take place before the end of this year, a January or February date has been rumoured.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hearn has suggested that Skill Challenge Entertainment, the Saudi organisation responsible for setting up Fury&#8217;s fight with Ngannou, are more interested in arranging similar cross-code fights.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/10\/16\/75268807-0-image-a-6_1694361559414.jpg\" height=\"458\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fury has already faced Wilder on three occasions, winning twice and taking the WBC belt from him in 2020<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;For us, we&#8217;ve agreed to terms for Joshua and Wilder, but until we receive a contract, the fight&#8217;s not happening.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Everybody has agreed to terms, but until the money is put in place, the fight&#8217;s not happening.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There&#8217;s a movement in management and ownership of boxing in Saudi, and it&#8217;s up to them what they want to do.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;If they don&#8217;t want to do Joshua-Wilder, maybe it goes somewhere else, but it&#8217;s one of the biggest fights in heavyweight boxing.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/article-12501801\/Tyson-Fury-WBC-Anthony-Joshua-Deontay-Wilder-Francis-Ngannou.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tyson Fury &#8216;could be STRIPPED of his WBC world title if he refuses to fight the winner of Anthony Joshua <span class=\"more-text\">&hellip;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":292044,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.8 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Fury &amp;apos;could be stripped of belt&amp;apos;
