Justin Tafa is looking to banish the memory of a horrific eye poke when he returns to the Octagon at UFC 293.

The New Zealander is running it back against NFL star turned heavyweight contender Austen Lane less than three months after their first match-up lasted only 30 seconds.

Tafa, 29, was unable to continue in Florida on June 24 and later called for his opponent to be disqualified post-event – before the bout was rearranged by the promotion.

The pair were swinging wildly before becoming embroiled in a clinch as Lane pushed out – inadvertently into the eye of his rival before the doctor stepped in.

“I just hope it's not really bad damage. Everything's blurry now. I can see your face, but everything's just blurry."
