A key reason as to why Jadon Sancho\u2019s move to Al-Ettifaq from Manchester United fell through has been revealed.<\/p>\n

Sancho expressed an interest in joining the Saudi Pro League side \u2013 who are managed by Steven Gerrard \u2013 after a public fall-out with Erik ten Hag.<\/p>\n

Al-Ettifaq offered to take Sancho on loan until the end of the season and United were prepared to let him depart Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

But it was later revealed that former Borussia Dortmund star Sancho would not be leaving United.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail, one of the reasons the deal collapsed is because United wanted to insert an obligation to buy worth \u00a350m.<\/p>\n

They claim that Al-Ettifaq \u2018could not afford\u2019 that price as negotiations came to an end.<\/p>\n

Gerrard\u2019s Al-Ettifaq have already signed Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Demarai Gray this summer.<\/p>\n

They had also been linked to Mason Greenwood before Gerrard shut down those rumours and the United striker later joined Getafe on loan.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson would not have treated Sancho in the same way as Ten Hag, according to former United striker Teddy Sheringham.<\/p>\n

Sancho claims he has been made a \u2018scapegoat\u2019 by Ten Hag\u00a0after being axed from the squad which faced\u00a0Arsenal\u00a0on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Ten Hag was asked in his post-match press conference to explain the 23-year-old\u2019s absence and\u00a0revealed publicly that Sancho had been omitted on account of his poor application in training.<\/p>\n
