Manchester United takeover talks remain \u2018ongoing\u2019 with Sheikh Jassim and Jim Ratcliffe both reportedly hoping to \u2018bridge the gap\u2019 between their offers and the demands of the Glazer family. Bids made by the frontrunners have not yet met the current owners\u2019 valuations, prompting strong frustration from all sides.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sheikh Jassim of Qatar and the British billionaire Ratcliffe are widely believed to have made proposals amounting to around \u00a35billion. However, the controversial Glazer siblings are reported to want between \u00a37-10bn for the Premier League club.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Concerns have been raised among United fans that the takeover process has hit a brick wall. It is now 10 months since the Red Devils were put up for sale and three months since the final round of bidding.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, it is claimed that negotiations remain ongoing. Representatives from both bidding parties are apparently due to continue discussions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n According to the Daily Mail, Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe will both attempt to \u2018bridge the gap\u2019 between their offers and the valuation of the Glazers. It has also been suggested that they may need to wait as long as until 2026 to get the green light from the Glazers.\u00a0<\/p>\n The report adds that the Glazers believe the extension of the Club World Cup and the 2026 US-Canada World Cup could see interest in football soar Stateside.\u00a0<\/p>\n That would increase the opportunity for the Glazers to sell to American investors, who could be willing to meet their asking price. But the Glazers\u2019 continued silence on the takeover issue has not gone down well, particularly with supporters who want an end to the saga.\u00a0<\/p>\n Former United defender Gary Neville – a vocal critic of the Glazers – insists the siblings want to sell the Red Devils. \u201cIt’s just a game for them, they think it’s a toy. Of course they’re going to sell.
