Read the room,&#8217; one account said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This is all a bit mental. Still wrapping my head round their marketing strategy. Seems like they&#8217;re just forcing us content to desensitise everyone,&#8217; a second said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I\u2019m sorry this is slightly comical at this point. Wtf????, a third wrote, with another commenting &#8216;There is zero shame in this world.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Despite social media criticism, Greenwood\u00a0was warmly welcomed during an open training session on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/13\/75076485-12482571-image-a-19_1693916259277.jpg\" height=\"421\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>One fan held up a signing requesting Greenwood&#8217;s shirt during an open training session<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/13\/75076489-12482571-image-a-20_1693916262808.jpg\" height=\"468\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Another supporter was pictured wearing the forward&#8217;s new Getafe shirt after his signing<\/p>\n<p>One young fan was pictured holding up a sign reading &#8216;Mason G. Can you give me your t-shirt please&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The sign included photos of Greenwood and the Manchester United club crest, as well as his former shirt at the Premier League club.<\/p>\n<p>Fans were also pictured wearing Greenwood&#8217;s new Getafe shirt, with the English forward having been confirmed as the LaLiga side&#8217;s new number 12.<\/p>\n<p>Greenwood is set to be presented as a Getafe player on Tuesday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His first training session was promoted on the club&#8217;s social media, with a video on the side&#8217;s English-language Twitter account showing Greenwood stepping onto the pitch with his new team-mates ahead of the open session.<\/p>\n<p>The video was shared with the caption: &#8216;We love you Mason Greenwood&#8217;, tagging the player and adding multiple heart emojis.<\/p>\n<p>Greenwood&#8217;s loan deal with Getafe is thought to include a break clause which would allow the side to send the player back to United during the January window if unhappy with how the move has developed.<\/p>\n<p>A domestic abuse charity in Spain has criticised Getafe&#8217;s decision to sign Greenwood, calling on the club to overturn its decision.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/13\/75076987-12482571-image-a-28_1693917418371.jpg\" height=\"456\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Greenwood was pictured in training with his Getafe team-mates for the first time on Tuesday<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/13\/75076991-12482571-image-a-29_1693917424598.jpg\" height=\"447\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The forward&#8217;s arrival has proved controversial with Getafe facing calls to overturn the decision<\/p>\n<p>A club spokesperson has reportedly defended the move by stating that Greenwood had been &#8216;declared innocent&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Getafe head coach Jose Bordalas has defended the club, but admitted it was a &#8216;delicate situation&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It is a very delicate situation to trivialise that issue,&#8217;\u00a0Bordalas said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Everyone knows what happened and appropriate measures were taken.
