Gauff was awaiting the winner of top seed Iga Swiatek and number 30 Jelena Ostapenko.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Getting to 2-1 (in the third) was the turning point, I started to go for my shots and be aggressive,\u2019 said Gauff. \u2018She gets to a lot of balls, sometimes I felt like I was playing myself, getting a lot of balls back. I knew I had to go for my shots.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018My whole box are cheering for me, sometimes I tell them to chill a little bit, I like to work it out for myself, sometimes it\u2019s a stress reaction.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/03\/23\/75021191-0-image-a-74_1693780578803.jpg\" height=\"416\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Coco Gauff is through to the US Open quarter-finals despite ignoring advice from her coach<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/03\/23\/75021251-0-image-a-75_1693780800179.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Gauff saw off the returning Caroline Wozniacki with a 6-3 3-6 6-1 win at Flushing Meadows\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Her level is like she has never left. It\u2019s a bit weird because I grew up watching her so to be on court with her was an honour.
