{"id":290994,"date":"2023-09-03T20:41:58","date_gmt":"2023-09-03T20:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/?p=290994"},"modified":"2023-09-03T20:41:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-03T20:41:58","slug":"palhinhas-brother-claims-fulham-have-only-postponed-bayern-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/soccer\/palhinhas-brother-claims-fulham-have-only-postponed-bayern-move\/","title":{"rendered":"Palhinha&apos;s brother claims Fulham have only &apos;postponed&apos; Bayern move"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Joao Palhinha&#8217;s brother claims Fulham only &#8216;postponed&#8217; rather than &#8216;killed&#8217; midfielder&#8217;s dream move to Bayern after deadline-day deal fell through<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Joao Palhinha&#8217;s brother has claimed Bayern Munich transfer was &#8216;postponed&#8217;<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Portugal international Palhinha was desperate to complete\u00a0 &#8216;dream&#8217; transfer<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Fulham midfielder travelled to Germany for a medical before deal fell through<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Joao Palhinha&#8217;s brother has suggested that Fulham have only &#8216;postponed&#8217; the midfielder&#8217;s transfer to Bayern Munich.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Portuguese international travelled to Germany in the closing stages of the summer transfer window to seal a \u00a355million move to the Bundesliga giants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, Fulham were not able to find a suitable replacement before the German window closed at 5pm on Friday and they cancelled the deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Palhinha was set to undergo a medical and take part in media duties in Bavaria before being called back to London.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a post on Instagram, Palhinha&#8217;s brother Goncalo said: &#8216;What about Munich? They didn&#8217;t kill the dream they just postponed it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/03\/16\/75013469-0-image-a-20_1693756182359.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Joao Palhinha saw a deadline day move to Bayern Munich fall through after Fulham pulled out fo the deal<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Words of appreciation, recognition and thanks to the entire @fcbayern structure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;If we alreaady knew how big the club was, the bigger it is after we left it regardless of what happened.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The respect and affection of the people of the Bayern structure who accompanied us, marked us by the difference in respect, honesty and professionalism.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Palhinha was not involved for Fulham in their 5-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite his desperation to complete the move to Bayern, he is now set to remain with the Cottagers until January at least.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>West Ham were also interested in signing the 28-year-old earlier in the summer, and Marco Silva believes his countryman will need support when he returns after the international break.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It was a tough day for him, definitely, probably one of the toughest days of his life,&#8217; said the Fuham boss after the loss at the Etihad.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He had the fantastic season last season and he\u2019s always a player that gives 100% for the shirt, but he had a big chance to go to one of the biggest clubs in the world and he was really close.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You can imagine the impact that has on a football player when these type of things happen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/03\/16\/75013549-0-image-a-22_1693756343991.jpg\" height=\"418\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Palhinha was absent for Fulham&#8217;s 5-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/03\/16\/75013467-0-image-a-21_1693756186130.jpg\" height=\"416\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fulham boss Marco Silva said it was a &#8216;tough day&#8217;
