Real Madrid have shown off their renovation work at the Santiago Bernabeu with stunning drone footage posted on their social media accounts.<\/p>\n
Their ambitious renovation of their famous home – which stretches back to 2019\u00a0 – is believed to be worth\u00a0\u20ac575million (\u00a3494m), and is designed to bring the iconic stadium into the modern age.<\/span><\/p>\n Though the process has hit delays, the stadium debuted its new roof and pitch during their 2-1 victory over Getafe on Saturday in their first home game of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n Before the match, Real Madrid shared a video showing drone footage both outside and inside the stadium.<\/span><\/p>\n Notable features showed included the new roof, a terrace surrounding the stadium at its highest level which will provide match-goers with a cutting-edge taste of hospitality, as well as the new pitch.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Real Madrid have shown off their renovation work at Santiago Bernabeu in a stunning drone video<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Real Madrid’s stadium includes a new roof, a terrace surrounding the stadium at its highest level to provide high-standard hospitality and a new pitch<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Real Madrid played under the Santiago Bernabeu’s new roof for the first time against Getafe<\/p>\n It also shows off the stunning architecture of the stadium, which has a futuristic look to bring the iconic venue into the current day.<\/span><\/p>\n The ambitious initial deadline of 2022 passed and the construction work, overseen by club president Florentino Perez, extended into this summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Last year, Madrid signed a deal with Legends and Sixth Street, handing over the operation of the stadium to the company for 20 years and banking \u00a3309m.<\/p>\n Moving forward, the club will receive 70 per cent of the revenue from the ground and estimate that revenues from the use of the venue will increase by \u00a3129m a year.<\/p>\n In July it was reported that the work will will be finished in September or October of this year, with its official opening pencilled in for the winter break in December.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The drone footage showed off the stunning architecture of the futuristic looking stadium<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jude Bellingham scored a dramatic winner for Madrid in their first home game of the season<\/p>\n After playing under the roof for the first time, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti said: ‘It’s a spectacular atmosphere, there’s something new.<\/p>\n ‘I think the fans pushed a lot today, it’s a much more enclosed atmosphere.<\/p>\n ‘You can feel that the fans pushed \u2014 it’s going to be a very important help and it was today.’<\/p>\n Jude Bellingham scored a last gasp winner to rescue three points for Ancelotti’s side.\u00a0<\/p>\n
