Football fans have joked Stuart Broad is better than most Sky Sports pundits – as he made a surprise appearance on Soccer Special.

Broad was one of the pundits covering Wednesday evening's Carabao Cup clashes, alongside Paul Merson and Alan Pardew, as his beloved Nottingham Forest took on Burnley.

It wasn't the result Broad might have been hoping for as Burnley knocked out Forest thanks to a 90th-minute winner through substitute Zeki Amdouni.

"The fact Stuart Broad is no worse as a football pundit than actual Sky football pundits tells you everything you need to know," one fan joked. While a second said: "Ngl could get used to watching Stuart Broad on Sky Soccer Special!"

Broad retired from cricket over the summer, as England lost the Ashes to Australia on home soil.

It was a fairytale ending for Broad as he took the last two wickets to win the final test of the series. Speaking to Sky Sports after, he said: "To pick up a couple of wickets to end the Test match and contribute to the team was very special."
