Ariel Helwani doesn’t know where to look as UFC star twerks in front of him
Respected combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani was subjected to a session of twerking by UFC star Ailin Perez.
Usually Helwani is normally found interviewing the likes of Tyson Fury, Paddy ‘the Baddy’ Pimblett and many more top stars in boxing and MMA. He is recognised as a voice of authority in the often unpredictable and constantly evolving world of combat sports.
However, in one of his most recent interviews, he was reduced to a mere spectator as UFC bantamweight fighter and passionate twerker Perez danced in front of him. To say Helwani did not know what to do was an understatement.

Helwani, 41, welcomed Perez onto his MMA Hour podcast as a special guest. It began rather chaotically as the Argentina native began singing and twerking in front of his desk, while he could only look on with a wide, but yet slightly baffled, smile.
The reporter laughed and clapped awkwardly as the 29-year-old showed off the range of motion in her hips. “Oh this is incredible,” a slightly awkward Helwani said as she embraced him. “Let’s hug it out. Wow, welcome.”

During her time with the reporter, Perez revealed she earned $24,000 (£19,000) from her dominant, unanimous decision victory over Lucie Pudilova. However, she also said she earns more money from the adult subscription site OnlyFans. “I take advantage of OnlyFans, because that's where I'm [making] my money. With the money I got from OnlyFans, I was able to buy a car,” she told Helwani.
“I'm in the UFC because I love to fight. This is the challenge that I've put forth for myself in my life, and I'm fighting in the UFC because I love it. But I'm [making] the money I have on OnlyFans.”
While the bulk of her livelihood may be earned in the platform, she still has her eye on earning another UFC contract. “Hopefully I get a new extension, which is what I'm looking for,” she added.
“Hopefully I can multiply that number so it's even better pay than what I've gotten. But at this point, if it's more, if it's less, my life is fighting, and I love fighting, and I'm going to fight regardless.”
