Wrexham star outed by Ryan Reynolds for approaching Blake Lively with top off
Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds has joked that he’s already had words with striker Ollie Palmer for looking to strike up conversation with his wife, Blake Lively, whilst topless during their title celebrations. It’s been an emotional few weeks for the Welsh team, who earned their spot back in the Football League for the first time in 16 years – winning the National League with a record 111 points.
After an enthralling race with Notts County to win the league, Wrexham earned the title after defeating County before going on to beat Boreham Wood in their penultimate game.
The National League title winners were flown out to Las Vegas to celebrate promotion to League Two – as well as having a parade in the Welsh city which Reynolds and fellow co-owner Rob McElhenney attended.
The two owners are much loved within the team, and have spent time celebrating with the players for the outstanding achievement – even going out for drinks around the city after securing the title.
Speaking on the Fearless in Devotion podcast, Reynolds was asked about the team, and immediately singled out striker Palmer when discussing who likes the camera. The filmstar even admitted he’s had to have words with him for his interactions with his A-list Hollywood wife.
Reynolds said: “Every time we’ve come as a family we’ve come over we have a walk down to the dressing room.
“Ollie is always the first one to walk out, completely shirtless, to have a conversation with my wife. I’m like Ollie put a f**king shirt on and come back out to speak to her like a gentleman.
“Ollie is one of the best guys I know though, really funny, and I’m thrilled for him and his clothing brand. It’s nice to see that take off.”

Fellow co-owner Rob McElhenney agreed that Palmer is the man who loves the cameras the most, adding: “Not even close”.
Palmer, 31, joined Wrexham from AFC Wimbledon in a club-record deal in January 2022, signing a three-and-a-half year deal after they paid a £300,000 fee. He scored 15 goals in the second half of last season and added another 17 this term in the National League to help fire the Reds to promotion.
