Wife of Everton new-boy Begovic celebrates by wearing Toffees shirt on a horse

Most partners tend to post a low-key message on social media, if anything at all, when their boyfriend or husband moves to a new club – but not the wife of new Everton goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic.

Begovic, 34, completed a move to the Toffees on Tuesday afternoon, leaving Bournemouth after four years at the Vitality Stadium.

The Bosnia & Herzegovina international expressed his delight at sealing a switch to Goodison Park, claiming he was "excited" and "honoured" in a press release on the club's website.

That might be so, but his joy was nothing compared to that of wife Nicolle, an international dressage rider who posted on Instagram to celebrate the announcement.

The blonde bombshell uploaded a series of images of herself wearing Everton's new kit and riding a horse while Goodison Park theme Z Cars played in the background.

The horse – named Jerry – also had a Toffees scarf draped around his neck to commemorate the news. The post was captioned: "The start of a new and exciting chapter with Asmir joining Everton.

"Jerry and I felt like dressing up for the occasion and had a little fun in the sun."

Nicolle's video has been very well received by Everton fans on social media.

One supporter tweeted: However cool you may think you are, you'll never be as cool as Nicolle Begovic wearing an Everton shirt riding a horse."

While another added: "Get Nicolle Begovic and Jerry the Evertonian horse to bring the team on the pitch first home game – please make it happen."

Nicolle, 35, is an international dressage rider and has represented Great Britain at international level, with aspirations to compete at the Olympics.

These days Nicolle's Instagram is dedicated to her love of dressage, but in the past the stunner has posted about her holidays with Begovic and his success at Chelsea.

Upon signing for Everton, Begovic told the club's official website : "When I first heard of the possibility of joining Everton, I was really excited.

"Opportunities like this don’t come round every day so I’m just really honoured and pleased to be here.

"I'm definitely here to compete. Jordan [Pickford] is a world-class goalkeeper and I think the group here is fantastic."
