Villa get new shirts after ‘wet look’ kit caused Lehmann wardrobe malfunction

Aston Villa have received new kits following the ‘wet look’ attire that caused Alisha Lehmann’s wardrobe malfunction.

The club’s men’s and women’s teams have been critical of the ‘wet look’ strip produced by Castore. Players said the kit became wet too quickly and clung to their bodies.

The women’s side, who played in the WSL, were said to be “dreading” playing in the kit. And those fears came to fruition ahead of a match when Lehmann suffered an unfortunate issue before a match.

The club has taken action by taking shipment of new, more comfortable kits, reports The Telegraph. It adds that Castore are still to supply Villa with technical details about the changes before the new kits are tested out.

However, even if the shirts do prove to be a better fit, Villa and Castore are still expected to part ways at the end of the season, cutting short a multi-year agreement between the parties. Castore accepted full responsibility for the issue but suggested it had been caused by the club’s BK8 sponsorship logo.

Villa’s men’s side, who have risen to third in the Premier League, did not wear the new kits during their home victories over Manchester City and Arsenal.
