Victor Osimhen grew up with two Premier League jerseys as he teases transfer

Victor Osimhen has revealed which two Premier League shirts he had in his house as a youngster he teases a switch.

The 24-year-old Nigeria striker, who removed all traces of Napoli from his Instagram account following a bizarre social media post mocking him earlier this year, has been heavily linked with a transfer to England in the past.

Osimhen has now been asked about his favourite Prem club by former Chelsea man John Obi Mikel, having scored 65 goals across 111 games in Naples since leaving Lille.

Speaking on The Obi One podcast, Osimhen said: "I had two jersey's from my brother when I was a kid – Chelsea and Manchester United.

"When I was playing grassroots [I was compared to Didier Drogba]. We used to use my brothers phone [to watch Drogba].

"I would then go on the pitch and try to [emulate] at his game [and learn]. I still watch Drogba's comps now."

Mikel was then quick to insist that Stamford Bridge will be his new home from next season – and not the Saudi Pro League despite ongoing interest.

Osimhen admitted that an offer from the Middle East was a hard one to turn down – and his dreams of emulating Drogba could've play a part.

Former Ivory Coast skipper Drogba won four Premier League titles across two spells with the Blues as well as seven domestic cups and the Champions League.

Osimhen's silverware history is led by the Serie A title of 2022/23 in which he scored 26 league goals from 32 outings.

Previous transfer links include Manchester United and Arsenal with a price-tag of £100million touted in the past.

The former Wolfsburg man is contracted at his current club until June of 2025, which could point towards a summer switch.
