Transfer update: Ozil, Alli and Lamptey latest
Tottenham have seen their Premier League title ambitions dented since the defeat to Liverpool earlier this month. Jose Mourinho’s side have not won in domestic action for four matches, and will be looking to begin 2021 with a bang to steer themselves back on track.
Spurs could look to utilise the transfer market in January once again after a busy summer window. Express Sport takes a look at the latest rumours surrounding the club.
Mourinho eyeing Real Madrid captain
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is being tracked by Mourinho with a view to signing the 34-year-old on a free transfer ahead of next season, according to the Evening Standard.
Ramos is yet to sign a new contract with Los Blancos, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the campaign.
It is said that he wants to remain in Madrid, but the two parties are struggling to come to an agreement.
He is a long-term Mourinho target with the charismatic Portuguese boss having wanted to sign him during his spell as Manchester United manager.
The Red Devils have again been linked with the Spain international in recent months, along with Italian champions Juventus and French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, suggesting that Spurs may have to beat a lot of strong competition in order to land the defender.

Spurs receive Sabitzer transfer boost
RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has reportedly told the German outfit that he wants to join Tottenham in January.
The 26-year-old Austrian has been linked with a move to north London throughout the year, with initial reports surfacing in March after his starring role in knocking Spurs out of the Champions League.
According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Sabitzer has asked Leipzig to allow him to join Mourinho’s side next month, with negotiations between the two clubs said to be ongoing.
However, it has been suggested that any potential deal will depend on Dele Alli leaving the club on loan or permanently.
Midfielder set for Benfica recall
On-loan midfielder Gedson Fernandes is set for a premature return to Benfica with the Portugese club keen to cut his Spurs spell short.
Portuguese outlet O Jogo has claimed that the termination of his temporary deal is ‘being agreed’ amid a lack of game time for the 21-year-old.
Fernandes joined the club in January on a one-and-a-half year loan deal, with Spurs being given the option to make his stay permanent for a £46m fee next summer.
He is unlikely to be missed by Mourinho, having featured just once this season in the Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea.
