Rumours linking Wolves star Adama Traore to Tottenham have gathered pace in recent days, with Antonio Conte reportedly keen on the Spaniard – especially given that he has just 18 months left on his contract. And Spurs’ renewed attempts to sign the tricky winger could mean the Lilywhites end their interest in Tariq Lamptey, giving Arsenal a clear run at signing the wonderkid.
Traore joined Wolves from Middlesbrough in 2018 for a fee in the region of £18million.
Excelling in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side with his electrifying pace and close control, Traore has made a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting wingers.
Having made 158 Premier League appearances at the age of just 25, the wealth of experience Traore is beginning to boast makes him an interesting option for Premier League clubs to consider.
Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the Spain international in the past, although reports linking him with a move to north London in recent weeks have become more prominent.
A move for Traore in January would likely end their interest in Tariq Lamptey, giving Arsenal a free run at the Brighton star.
Conte wants Traore to transition into a wing-back, meaning any move for Lamptey may be scrapped.
Lamptey shot onto the scene at Brighton after leaving Chelsea in January 2020.
The Hillingdon-born right-back made just one league appearance for Chelsea – incidentally against Arsenal in a 2-1 win in December 2019 – before Graham Potter swooped in to sign him on a cut-price fee.
The wing-back has excelled at the AMEX Stadium, becoming one of England’s brightest young prospects with his daring nature and superb technical ability.

However, his age and contract length means that Brighton do not need to sell him whatsoever, with Express Sport understanding there is a £50m asking price.
And as a result, Tottenham believe Traore – who is available for around £20m – represents better value.
Arsenal currently have Takehiro Tomiyasu at right-back, although he is better suited to a centre-back role.
And Lamptey would be a perfect fit, with Mikel Arteta requiring energetic full-backs as a fundamental part of his philosophy.
Conte is thought to want Traore as a right wing-back in his team, with the Italian less than impressed with Emerson Royal.
A deal for the Gunners to sign Lamptey may have to wait until the summer if they prioritise a striker.
Arteta is supposedly lining up a move for either Fiorentina prodigy Dusan Vlahovic or Real Sociedad star Alexander Isak this month.
