Tottenham are reportedly preparing an ‘important’ offer for Real Sociedad star Brais Mendez as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster his ranks in the January transfer window. Spurs have made a flying start to the season and are hopeful of pushing for at least one piece of silverware.
Postecoglou has breathed a new lease of life into Tottenham, with the club in a significantly better place both on and off the pitch. The north London outfit have won eight of their opening 10 Premier League matches and sit top of the table, prompting conversations about whether they can challenge for the title.

Several stars are being closely monitored, though Spanish news outlet Sport report that Tottenham are preparing a bid for Sociedad star Mendez. The 26-year-old has made a sensational start to the season in the La Liga, scoring two and assisting three in 11 appearances.
Mendez has shone on the European stage too with influential performances in the Champions League, and his consistently ‘magnificent’ displays are said to have caught the eye of Tottenham – with other top clubs also expected to be monitoring the progress of the former Celta Vigo star.

Sociedad have made a strong start to the season and are therefore keen to retain the services of their playmaker, with the player under contract at the club until 2028. However, his £52million (€60m) release clause could force the Spanish side to reluctantly part ways with their No 23.
Tottenham are keen to test the resolve of Sociedad before deciding on whether to activate the aforementioned clause and are lining up an ‘important offer’ for the January transfer window. Mendez is an incredibly versatile midfielder and can play centrally as well as on the wing, thus making him the ideal acquisition for Spurs given that they are looking to add depth in all departments.
