Tottenham are expected to complete the signing of Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon this summer, despite interest from Manchester United.
The Spaniard, who made his international debut last week, is expected to be available for around £25m, with his current club ready to sell in the coming weeks.
Tottenham are the front-runners for the Real Madrid star, who was on loan at Sevilla last season, as Danny Rose looks set to depart north London.
The Daily Mail report negotiations between Los Blancos and the player will intensify this week, as an exit strategy is worked out.
Both Spurs and United are said to be leading the chase, according to the publication, despite interest from Sevilla and Napoli.
However, Forbes report United are unlikely to put a bid in for the player, with the Red Devils of the belief that their name has been brought up to ramp up interest in Reguilon.
They believe Tottenham will complete a deal for the 23-year-old, who has impressed in La Liga.
Earlier in the transfer window, Chelsea were linked with Reguilon before they landed Ben Chilwell.
And it's been reported Arsenal were also offered the player.
“Reguilon has been offered to Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham,” transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed last month.
“Many clubs are considering him because, in my opinion he’s such a good player, he had such a good season with Sevilla.
“Napoli are also considering him, he will move from Real Madrid. But there are no talks to sign him at the moment.”

United are also reportedly watching Monaco left-back Fode Ballo-Toure, who is under contract until 2023.
The under-21 international would be brought in as a back-up for Shaw, while Brandon Williams would be shifted over the right-back as back-up for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Transfer Window Podcast reporter Duncan Castles reports Toure is one of the options being pursued, using the cash was meant to be for Jadon Sancho this summer.
