The Rock transforms into David Beckham at Halloween but fans left unimpressed

    Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was one of the biggest talking points at Halloween after dressing up as David Beckham.

    The WWE icon-turned Hollywood actor celebrated the spooky holiday by paying tribute to the Manchester United legend in a bold way. Donning a Red Devils kit with Beckham's name and famous number seven on the back, Johnson completed his transformation into the England legend with a blond wig, as he attempted to recreate Becks' luscious locks during his football career.

    The Jumanji star posted snaps of himself in the costume on Instagram which has garnered almost two million likes as he captioned the post: "265lb BLA-MOAN BECKHAM #7 on the field #1 in your heart. Happy Halloween, my friends. BlaMoan = Black + Samoan. #BendItLikeABlaMoan #TaurusEnergy #May2ndBabies".

    The post almost immediately went viral and the inspiration himself took to the comments as the Inter Miami owner gave Johnson a helpful suggestion with the costume as he wrote: "I mean I thought I was looking in the mirror. Looking good man you might need a bigger jersey". He even went as far to post Johnson's costume on his own Instagram as he said: "And the winner is The Rock. Looking good man, I know what I am going as next year."

    Despite the plaudits the 51-year-old received, many on social media were unsure of Johnson's accuracy, given it was a modern United kit the man himself never wore. One X user wrote: What is that dodge United shirt" given the Adidas logo is nowhere to be seen on the United kit. Another was quite blunt in his assessment of Johnson's Halloween attempt by commenting: "If I’m being honest that’s wack.

    "It’s just a modern kit with Beckham on it. He could have gone retro at least." A third fan took aim at the wig Johnson sported as they said: "Fake united jersey with real madrid beckham hair".

    The co-sign from the football legend wasn't enough for the Hollywood behemoth as he attempted to demonstrate he also had Beckham's football skills as he shared a video where he controlled a ball and looked pretty pleased with himself.

    It's been a busy few days for Beckham who's fresh off awarding Lionel Messi his eighth Ballon d'Or on Monday (October 30) in a shining moment for the Englishman and Inter Miami who currently employ the official best player in the world.

    The Argentine was the favourite to win the award after guiding Argentina to their first World Cup triumph since 1986 as Beckham said that Miami will celebrate the historic moment with a party. "It’s very special to say he’s a Miami player and he’s in our city," he said after the awards ceremony.

    "He’ll celebrate this with his teammates and his family in his way. We’ll do our best to celebrate it in the Miami way. I’m sure we can do a good party."
