Manchester United are hungry for glory ahead of their clash against Liverpool.
That is the warning that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sent Jurgen Klopp after his side saw off the challenge of Burnley to go three points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Paul Pogba’s strike has handed the Red Devils the chance to go six points clear of the reigning champions should they collect all three points at Anfield on Sunday.
Solskjaer said when asked by Sky Sports how it feels to be clear at the top “Brilliant position to be in.”
Before adding of their upcoming derby: “Of course we know we’re going to the champions, they’ve had an unbelievable three-and-a-half seasons.
“We know it’s going to be a difficult game for us but we’re ready for it.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better time to play them because we’re in good shape, good form, hungry, that’s the big thing, these boys are hungry.
“They want to get better and that’s the test again. A test of character and a test of quality.”
Pogba who has received plenty of praise for his performance at Turf Moor, has urged his team-mates to stay focused on the task at hand rather than their current league position.
He said: "We know that the game today was very hard, very difficult and obviously we wanted to win.
“We know it's not easy to play here. We got the three points and we're happy for that but there's still a long way and now we focus again until the end of the season."
Before adding of his own happiness: “It was a great performance from everyone, good focus.
"Always happy when I win – today we won and I'm happy we play well.
“Still a long way to go and we have big games to go so we have to focus on that."
