Chelsea’s summer clearout has finally got underway as Thomas Tuchel looks to rebuild his Blues squad in his first full transfer window since taking charge. The Blues are set to conduct a sizeable overhaul in this summer’s transfer window, despite winning the Champions League last season.

That overhaul finally got underway more than a month after the season came to an end with Victor Moses’ transfer to Spartak Moscow.

Moses spent nine years at Chelsea but only really found game time under Antonio Conte, before being sent out on a series of loans, including to Spartak.

He has now made that move a permanent one, with more flops set to follow the Nigerian out of the Stamford Bridge exit door.

Here, Daily Express Sport looks at six other stars who could finally be set to leave this summer as Tuchel reforms his squad…

Davide Zappacosta

Much like Palmieri, David Zappacosta has also failed to break into Chelsea’s senior plans since moving from Italy.

He joined from Torino in 2017 for a fee in the region of £23million but has not impressed for the Blues.

Instead, the right-back has been sent back to Italy on loan in both of the last two seasons, first to Roma and then to Genoa, with a permanent move now on the horizon.

Emerson Palmieri

It has been a torrid spell in London for fullback Emerson Palmieri, who has failed to break into Chelsea’s first-team plans under three successive managers.

The Italian has seen the Blues bring in big-money signings such as Ben Chilwell in his position, making only two Premier League appearances last season.

With Marcos Alonso and Chilwell clearly ahead of him in the pecking order, Palmieri could finally be set to depart after three years in England, with a return to Italy the clear frontrunner.

Ross Barkley

Arguably one of the more frustrating English players of recent seasons, Ross Barkey’s talent is frequently obvious to many.

But the midfielder has failed to show that talent consistently for Chelsea since joining from Everton in January 2018.

The 27-year-old impressed at Aston Villa last season, despite seeing that loan spell hampered by injury and another departure will be on the cards this summer with Tuchel well stocked in his position.

Danny Drinkwater

Danny Drinkwater’s demise at Chelsea is as sad as they come, with the former Leicester star completely tailing off after he joined the Blues.

A Premier League winner just five years ago, Drinkwater has only played 12 times in the competition since his £35million switch, and has been the subject of various uninspiring loans.

Various personal issues have no doubt hampered his hopes of coming back into the fray, and Chelsea will do well to get anything for him with Drinkwater’s contract expiring next summer.

After those 14 Premier League appearances in his first season at the Bridge, Kenedy hasn’t got a look in with the Blues.

Loan spells with Newcastle, Getafe and Granada have helped his development somewhat, but the Brazilian winger has never lived up to the expectations many had.

According to Globo Esporte, Brazilian Serie A champions Flamengo are keen to take him another loan deal for next season.

Michy Batshuayi

It remains to be seen if Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi will be loaned out again next season, with his spell at Crystal Palace hardly proving to be prolific.

Batshuayi is now 27, and a career that once promised so much is beginning to dwindle.

But his 22 goals in 35 caps for Belgium suggests he has plenty of quality to give, so don’t write him off just yet.
