Sheikh Jassim makes ‘take it or leave it offer’ in final Man Utd takeover bid

Manchester United bidder Sheikh Jassim has reportedly submitted one last take it or leave it offer for the club.

His rival, Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe, was believed to be the preferred option for the Raine Group, the merchant bank handling the process, as his proposal valued closer to the Glazers' estimation.

According to the Daily Mail, the Qatari billionaire has responded by making a last-ditch attempt at the eleventh hour to turn the tide in his favour. It's an improved offer which would see him take 100% control of the club.

Ratcliffe's, in contrast, offered the Glazer family the opportunity to stay with a partial stake for either two or four years before departing for good.

Both have been through three rounds of bidding in recent months, with frustration growing both from the interested parties and fans who are keen to see the back of their unpopular owners.

Sheikh Jassim's final offer is thought to be still be lower than Ratcliffe's, but would be up front and completely clear the club's debt, which is around £536m.

He's also vowed to make significant investment in not only the squad, but also the infrastructure. Old Trafford has been in decline for a number of years, while United's training facilities have been criticised too.

The ball is now back in Ratcliffe's court, with no clear end to the process in sight. United boss Erik ten Hag is claimed to be hopeful for a deal to be completed as soon as possible, with the summer transfer window on the horizon.
