Scottish Championship club Raith Rovers have been hit with a storm of inappropriate innuendoes on social media after tweeting about the ‘extension’ of 27-year-old full-back Liam Dick.
Raith Rovers posted to social media on Tuesday to announce that the Scot had penned a new contract until June 2024, headlining the tweet ‘Dick extension’ with a handwriting emoji.
It didn’t take long for Twitter users to notice the club’s humourous announcement, and fans swiftly replied with a glut of inappropriate and hilarious responses.
Raith Rovers’ initial tweet read: ‘Dick extension. We’re delighted to announce Liam Dick has renewed his contract for another year, keeping him at the club until June 2024.
‘Liam’s strong defending and versatility has been vital in his 80 appearances for the club, scoring four goals. #YouBelong.’

‘Excellent news. Really stiffens up the defence,’ one fan was quick to reply.
A second wrote: ‘Anything to help get past the Semi.’
Another chimed in and said: ‘This is huge.’
A fourth supporter, keen to take the jokes to the next level, posted: ‘I’m really pleased for Dick. The first time I saw him, I wanted him pulled off, but he was a definite grower: hard in the tackle, a solid member of the squad and a real come-from-behind kinda guy.’

Raith Rovers took to social media once again on Wednesday morning to reflect on the explosion of responses.
Well, things escalated last night,’ the club wrote. ‘Over 5,000,000 people now know Liam Dick has extended his contract for another season.
‘Happy player @LiamDick. Happy social media sponsor @FordsDalyLegal. Happy home shirt sponsor @DeanParkHotel. Who’s next?’
Raith Rovers finished the Scottish Championship campaign in seventh earlier this month, drawing 2-2 with Partick Thistle on the final day of the season.
