PSG are being tipped to rescue Cristiano Ronaldo from his nightmare at Manchester United when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season. With the Ligue 1 giants potentially facing the departure of Kylian Mbappe, they could move for the France international’s idol as a possible replacement. Express Sport will now take a look at how PSG could line up with both Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the same side.
Goalkeeper: Keylor Navas
PSG really are fortunate when it comes to their goalkeepers.
They still have Keylor Navas as their No 1, with the Costa Rica international continuing to flourish as he enters the twilight years of his career.
And they also have Gianluigi Donnarumma, too, who joined on a free transfer from AC Milan back in the summer.
These days, PSG start Navas most of the time.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Donnarumma, who was the best goalkeeper at the European Championships in the summer but has struggled to make his mark over in France.

Defence: Hakimi, Marquinhos, Ramos, Mendes
If every player was fit, PSG would have a very different back four to the one that started against Lyon at the weekend.
Achraf Hakimi would usually start over Colin Dagba, while a peak Sergio Ramos gets into the team over Prisnel Kimpembe.
Therefore, we’re going with those two players plus Nuno Mendes and Marquinhos in the back four.
Hakimi and Mendes’ speed would cause opposition sides all kinds of problems out wide.
And Marquinhos and Ramos could be a fine centre-back pairing if the former Real Madrid star is ever able to get back to the player he used to be.

Midfield: Verratti, Paredes, Herrera
PSG like to play a 4-3-3 formation under Mauricio Pochettino.
So if the Argentine stays, amid interest from Manchester United, it’s likely he’d stick with his usual trio.
That would mean Marco Verratti starting every week, with the Italy international only getting better as time goes on.
Leonardo Parades can be hit and miss but he, too, would get into the side.
And Ander Herrera would as well, especially for the matches PSG can’t afford to lose.
Forwards: Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar
What a front three this would be.
Mbappe isn’t expected to stay at PSG, with Real Madrid convinced he’ll move to the Bernabeu and fulfil a childhood dream in the process.
Therefore, Ronaldo could play as a central striker like he usually does for United and Portugal.
On the left could be Neymar.
And, on the right, Messi. The prospect of two old foes uniting for one last dance certainly sounds exciting.
Why didn’t Ronaldo play against Villa?
Ronaldo missed United’s FA Cup clash with Aston Villa on Monday through injury, Ralf Rangnick confirmed.
“I spoke with Cristiano yesterday before training, he told me that he’s had some problems for the last couple of days,” he said.
“Minor problems, but in the end, we decided that it made more sense to not take any risks in a game that could easily last 120 minutes, so we just decided to rest him, not play him at all.”
He then added: “He had some problems with his hip, with his hip muscle, and we just decided that it would be better for him not to play this game.
“I don’t think it’s anything serious. He’s told me that he’s had that problem for the last couple of days. Again, in a cup game when you can play 120 minutes, I thought it would be better to not take any risks.”
