Kylian Mbappe: Pundit discusses possible transfers for PSG star
Kylian Mbappe has given Liverpool a negative response about a potential move to Anfield in the summer transfer window, according to reports. The France international is being eyed by Jurgen Klopp at a time where Mohamed Salah’s future is up in the air. But it appears a move to Real Madrid is far more likely.
Mbappe has been in fine form for PSG this season, with the France international scoring 12 goals from 14 Ligue 1 matches.
As a result, the French giants are keen to keep him at the Parc des Princes.
Mbappe’s current contract in France is due to expire in 2022 and, though Mauricio Pochettino is eager for him to stay, an extension is yet to be signed.
Liverpool have been linked as a result, especially with Salah’s long-term future at Anfield up in the air amid interest from both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
But while Klopp is keen, Spanish website OKDiario claim Mbappe ‘has given a negative response’ to the Reds after they made a discreet enquiry.

It’s a similar story for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, with Mbappe also telling the 49-year-old he has no desire to move to the Etihad Stadium.
Instead, the 23-year-old wants Real Madrid.
He rejected their advances when he was at Monaco, choosing to join PSG in the summer transfer window of 2017 to make history in his own country.
But with Mbappe failing to win the Champions League during his time in Paris, it seems as though he’s now ready to make the move to Spain.
Real have seen attackers such as Eden Hazard and Vinicius Jr struggle this season and Zinedine Zidane would love to add his compatriot to his side as he targets more silverware.
The report says Mbappe intends to sit down with PSG heavyweights Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Leonardo to discuss interest from Madrid at the end of the campaign.
And they’ve supposedly got an agreement with the 2018 World Cup winner that he won’t renew, with Mbappe also being willing to push for a transfer.
For Real, they’ll have to break the bank to land the superstar.
But a deal could be struck for cheaper than the £166million PSG paid for him four years ago due to the fact his contract is currently winding down.
Meanwhile, Danny Murphy recently claimed Liverpool should look at signing Mbappe or Jadon Sancho as a replacement for Salah – should the Egypt international leave.
“If you are going to lose someone like Salah or [Sadio] Mane, it’s about having a plan in place about what you are going to do to replace the numbers,” former Reds midfielder Murphy told Stadium Astro.
“Liverpool’s team is heavily reliant on the front three so you can’t take a risk.
“You have to bring in a superstar.
“I don’t think there are too many out there that you put above Salah in terms of numbers and ability to win matches and score goals. Maybe a Sancho or Mbappe?
“Liverpool will be planning. They have done well in recruitment for some time now.”
