Pogba can’t live up to expectations – it’s time to confess he’s not world class

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got himself into a right pickle with Paul Pogba.

He's indulged him, dropped him and persevered with him but whatever he tries, nothing seems to work.

The bottom line is that the Frenchman is an enigma who cannot be trusted, because his work ethic, attitude and desire are nowhere near the levels required and demanded at a club like Manchester United.

The difference between him and Arsenal's Thomas Partey in the midfield battle at Old Trafford last weekend was startling, and Pogba cost almost twice as much as the Ghanian.

People bang on about Pogba being 'world class' and the fact he won the World Cup with France, along with three Serie A titles with Juventus, but look at the players he was surrounded by in those respective teams?

He doesn't have the same experience, quality or strong leadership around him at United, but world class players live up to expectations anyway – and he is incapable of doing this.

Having cost United a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend following a rash challenge to concede the decisive spot kick, Pogba trudged off the pitch all alone at the final whistle.

Not one team-mate consoled or embraced him. Insiders insist Pogba remains a popular member of the dressing room, but the evidence suggests otherwise.
