Arsenal have reportedly had a breakthrough in negotiations with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the forward has signed a three-year contract. Aubameyang’s future has dominated the headlines at Arsenal over the last 12 months.
Under Unai Emery, speculation of a potential exit were increasing every week as he grew frustrated under the former Sevilla coach.
But Aubameyang has cut a much happier figure under Mikel Arteta, with Arsenal showing promising signs in the second half of the season.

Arteta similarly made multiple comments in the media insisting he was confident an extension would soon be confirmed.
But Gunners fans were growing concerned with no announcement being made while other players were signing new deals at the club.
That looks set to change though with The Athletic reporting Arsenal have agreed terms on a three-year deal.

The news will come as a huge boost not only to Arteta, but the to the club’s hierarchy who risked losing another top player for free next summer.
It is claimed that Aubameyang’s relationship with Arteta was key to the breakthrough in talks.
An announcement is said to be made “imminently” which could happen before the start of the Premier League season.
Arsenal face newly-promoted Fulham on the first day of the season before hosting West Ham a week later.
Aubameyang will once again be crucial to Arsenal’s goals for the upcoming season.
The 31-year-old scored an impressive 29 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions last season, despite being pushed out wide in the second half of the campaign.
The Arsenal boss now faces a decision on whether to bring Aubameyang back through the middle or not.
They signed Willian on a free this summer while Bukayo Saka has shown potential to become a first-team regular with Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel Martinelli and Reiss Nelson all options out wide.
