Owen Hargreaves gave a scathing review of Manchester United’s season with the club’s former midfielder blasting Erik ten Hag’s team for producing an ’embarrassing’ performance against Bournemouth on Saturday.
United were attempting to build momentum after beating Chelsea in midweek, but were left reeling as the Cherries recorded an emphatic 3-0 win at Old Trafford – their first ever at the famous ground.
Boos echoed around the 77,000 seater stadium at full-time while many home supporters in attendance had already left their seats before the end of the game.
Defeat leaves United with a 10-point gap to league leaders Liverpool and more concerningly a seventh top-flight defeat of the season.
Hargreaves was hugely disappointed to see his former club come undone against their south coast visitors and slammed the 13-time Premier League champions after the match.

‘Listen to the boos, look at all the open seats,’ Hargreaves told Premier League Productions.
‘The fans have spoken. The performance was embarrassing and it has been like that all season.
‘You have to praise a team [Bournemouth] that plays the right way with good attacking players. They deserve the praise. They played exceptionally today.’

United came undone after just nine minutes when Bournemouth opened the scoring through former Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke.
The hosts created several chances throughout the remainder of the first half but were unable to convert any of their efforts, with Anthony Martial resoundingly cheered off in the second passage of play.
Rasmus Hojlund’s introduction failed to make a difference with the summer recruit’s wait for a first Premier League goal agonisingly dragging on.
Philip Billing doubled Bournemouth’s lead in the 68th-minute before Marcos Senesi tapped in a third goal minutes later.
