Only real football fans can name all 149 teams to play in the Champions League

Reaching the group stage of the Champions League isn't easy – and neither is naming all 149 teams to have done it.

Prove your footballing knowledge against your pals by remembering all the clubs to have competed at the highest level of European football with 10 English sides among them. The list includes representatives from 34 different nations with Germany having the most clubs with 15 sides all playing in the opening stage of the competition – but five of them just once.

The 2023/24 season will be the last in the current format, with a total of 83 teams to compete from 2024/25, with the iconic league stage soon moving to 36 teams.

Celtic's two representatives might not be too tricky but Hungary's could prove to be a stumbling block during the 15 minute time limit – with the link to the quiz below.
