Tino Livramento insisted he will not rush any decision over his international allegiance after Scotland talked up the idea of poaching the Newcastle defender.
Steve Clarkeâs assistant John Carver confirmed that Livramento is on their radar, while former full back Alan Hutton claimed his country are âlooking atâ convincing the ex-Southampton academy graduate to switch away from England.
Livramento, also eligible for Portugal, has linked up with Englandâs Under 21s ahead of two European Championship qualifiers, starting in Serbia on Saturday.
âThere’s no rush to make any decision. I’m really happy with where I am now,â Livramento said.
âIâve not seen anything and Iâm sure if it was something serious my agent wouldâve let me know.

âI really do enjoy coming away with the team. We’ve a great manager (Lee Carsley) who stayed in contact with me when I was injured to make sure that I was in a good place.
âI have a lot of respect and love for the England setup because I’ve been through every age group here.â
Newcastle spent ÂŁ32million on the full back in the summer after almost a year out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury and Livramento believes he now understands his body properly.

âYou get games where you donât feel 100 per cent but I know with the big injury that I had whether somethingâs serious or itâs something I can play on,â he added.
âThe move was a tough decision, donât get me wrong. Anyone in my position, to have that opportunity, would do what Iâve done.
âItâs a new experience, not only a new club but a new part of England all the way up north. Itâs been exciting.
âThere are a lot of fans you see when you go out for a coffee but theyâre always respectful, nice and kind. It feels like a family up there, everyone loves you.â
