Neil Warnock, 72, is currently on a pre-season tour with his Middlesbrough squad. After his team’s 7-0 victory against Tavistock AFC yesterday, Warnock’s heart-warming gesture to a young fan has sent Twitter into a frenzy.

A viral video shows the former Premier League manager grabbing a signed picture of himself from his bumbag and handing it to a delighted young girl.

The child’s father, Lee Hall, shared the sweet video on social media captioning it: “What a lovely touch. Thank you Neil, my daughter is over the moon.”

The clip has amassed almost 10k likes and hundreds of comments. One fan said: “Neil Warnock carrying around signed pictures of himself in a bumbag is sensational.”

Another replied: “I’m not sure what I find more impressive, the way he makes the girl so happy or the fact he carries signed pictures of himself in a bum bag.”

A third added: “When you are as famous as Neil Warnock, a supply of signed photos within arm’s reach is a must. A man of the people.”

A fourth said: “Football will be really gone when this hero retires.”

One woman recalled: “I love him we were in Cornwall a month ago and just happened to bump into him and Mrs Warnock! Stood and chatted for ages and both were just lovely.”

Middlesbrough are looking to improve on a tenth place finish in Warnock’s second full season in charge.

The team will play Plymouth Argyle and Rotherham in pre-season friendlies before their Championship campaign gets underway against Fulham on August 8.
