Mino Raiola could end up holding the key to Manchester United’s title ambitions next season with Paul Pogba under his wing. The Frenchman and Bruno Fernandes were pivotal as the Red Devils were in a rampant mood on Thursday night.

United stars Pogba and Fernandes could be the two to lead the club to glory in the Premier League and Champions League next season.

They exhibited that they can be a deadly combination for the Red Devils in a 6-2 destruction of AS Roma in the Europa League on Thursday night.

However, that is only if Raiola allows it – with the controversial agent known for his stirrings at Old Trafford.

There has been almost all-out war between the Dutch-Italian and United chiefs – particularly over Pogba’s future.

The France international had been unsettled for a number of years at the club but is in the form of his life and is playing with a smile on his face.

But it was only December when Raiola insisted Pogba wanted to leave United and would not sign a new contract – so what is it to be?

This is not the first time the 53-year-old has poked the bear, opening up about his ambition to take the Frenchman away from Manchester almost on a yearly basis.

It has led to verbal barbs with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and outrage from fans, contributing to Pogba’s performances on the pitch.

But with Raiola firmly muted, the 28-year-old has flourished and a relationship with Fernandes has blossomed.

When the two are in the mood, there is little a defence can do to stop them from causing havoc – and Roma can back that up.

Pogba’s twinkle toes combined with Fernandes’ sheer drive can lead United to Premier League glory next season.

They sit second this year with only one half of the pair in full force – imagine the entwined powers of both for a whole campaign.

The Red Devils are the favourites to go on and win the Europa League but that will not satisfy either player – who want the biggest prizes.

And they have the quality to get there – one is a World Cup winner and the other is on the verge of scoring 30 goals this year.

The last person to reach that target was Robin van Persie in 2013 – subsequently the last time United won the Premier League.

Keeping the two together is the best chance the club have of replicating that success and Raiola is the one man to prevent that.
