Mbappe considering Liverpool, Chelsea pulled plug, £215m record bid for Salah
The Premier League transfer window may now be closed until the New Year, but there are several European clubs able to do business as well as the Middle East and elsewhere. Clubs in the Saudi Pro League have until tomorrow to get their business done with Al Ittihad continuing their push to sign Mohamed Salah.
Reports this week have suggested a new world-record bid worth £215million has been sent to Liverpool to test their resolve. There’s been no statement from Liverpool so far, not like when Barcelona came calling for Philippe Coutinho in the summer of 2017.
FSG issued a hands-off warning to Barcelona that summer with the club eventually yielding to an astronomical offer in January that season. Liverpool reportedly have no desire to sell Salah now, particularly with no opportunity to sign a replacement.
Elsewhere, Premier League clubs are offloading their fringe players to places such as Turkey and beyond with Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele recently heading to Galatasaray. And plans are already being put in place for the January transfer window in a bid to further bolster their respective squads. Express Sport is on hand to provide all the latest transfer news.
Good morning
Hello and welcome to Express Sport’s live coverage from the transfer window.
All the main focus remains on the Saudi Pro League and whether they’re able to add to the array of talented players they’ve taken from Europe already.
Mohamed Salah’s future is still a concern for Liverpool while the Saudi transfer window remains open.
But there’s little over 24 hours for Al Ittihad to convince the Reds to sell.
Stay tuned for live updates throughout the day.
