Erik ten Hag admits Manchester United need to defend better and stop collapsing like âa pack of cardsâ.
Unitedâs 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in midweek means that Ten Hagâs side have shipped 14 goals in their last five games.
There was criticism of the effort put in by some players tracking back at the Allianz Arena, with Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay among those singled out.
Stuart Pearce commented on talkSPORT that Rashford was running like he âhad a fridge on his backâ while fans on social media highlighted how McTominay was outpaced by the referee.
Ten Hag insisted United must defend better as a team, saying: âIt’s about 11 players who do their job. I said many times here in this place, I always tell my players we attack with 11 and defend with 11.

Andre Onana took responsibility for the defeat in Munich after he spilled Leroy Saneâs shot for Bayernâs crucial first goal.
But Ten Hag added: âIt’s about team and as a team, we don’t have the results in this moment. So also individuals don’t bring the performance and you expect not only one player, you include the manager.â
