Manchester United discover ‘extent’ of Andre Onana injury ahead of Everton clash
Manchester United star Andre Onana should be fit to play Everton next weekend, according to reports. The goalkeeper suffered an adductor injury while on international duty with Cameroon but the issue is not serious.
Onana was substituted in the 80th minute of his country’s 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Mauritius on Friday. It sparked fears that he could miss a substantial period of time ahead of a busy fixture schedule for the Red Devils.
Onana has played every minute for United since joining from Inter Milan for £47.2million in the summer. Erik ten Hag has depended on the 27-year-old, who he worked with previously at Ajax.
But it appears the injury is not as bad as first feared. United play Everton next Sunday in their first match following the international break.

And the Mirror claims Onana should be fit to play in that game. The report says Onana only came off as a precaution on Friday, asking to be replaced as soon as he felt pain.
He didn’t want to make the issue worse despite Cameroon only leading 1-0 at the time. Rigobert Song’s side added two late goals after Onana had left the pitch.
Cameroon are again in action on Tuesday against Libya. It remains to be seen whether Onana will play in that World Cup qualifier.
But it appears United will not have to do without him when they travel to Goodison Park. It is sure to be a fierce atmosphere in Everton’s first match since they were deducted 10 points for allegedly breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.

Onana had a difficult start to life at Old Trafford, making a number of high-profile errors in both the Premier League and Champions League. However, he has kept a clean sheet in his last two league matches, with United in the best form of any top-flight team across the last five game weeks.
If Onana is not fit, Ten Hag will likely call upon fellow summer signing Altay Bayindir. Ten Hag has resisted giving the Turkey international any game time since his arrival from Fenerbahce.
Bayindir is said to have impressed staff in training following his £4.3m move. He could be in line to play in as many as six matches if Onana goes to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
Onana only came out of international retirement in September. He is yet to make a final decision on whether he will make himself available for AFCON.
