Manchester United and Real Madrid are yet to reach an agreement over left-back Sergio Reguilon.

Although the two clubs are both keen to reach a deal this summer, Los Blancos are not happy with one element of the proposal made by the Red Devils.

The updates comes after Gary Neville has also urged his former side to sign a left-back, citing the recent injury problems suffered by Luke Shaw.

Reguilon also made his debut for the Spanish national team in their 4-0 win over Ukraine on Sunday, which could have been watched by United scouts in their pursuit of the defender.

The Spanish champions want to included a buy-back option in the contract according to Spanish outlet Cope, which doesn’t fit in with the plans of United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Reguilon spent last season on loan at Sevilla where he helped them to Europa League glory, having left Real with a ‘clear conscience’ at the beginning of the season.

He told AS at the time: "I left Madrid on good terms, I wasn't mad at anyone.

"Everything was a mutual agreement. I am an academy player and I owe everything to Madrid. It's impossible for me to leave in a bad way."

Speaking of potential United transfers while on the Webby and O’Neill show, Neville said: "I think the left-back area is important because Luke [Shaw] has had injury problems.

"I think centre-back is critical and I do think at least one forward is important. I still think we need three or four signings.

"I’ve got a feeling they [the Manchester United board] are on it and are just not getting them over the line quite as quickly as they’d want.

"But they’re not panicking and they’re still in control I think. They’re not reacting to the market like they were a few years ago, they’re in control.

"The signings are better, they’re a better age-profile and look like they will be at the club for a long time rather than a season or two.

"I’m positive generally about United, but getting those players over the line is critical."
