Man Utd stars ‘would be happy if Ten Hag was sacked’ as Enrique makes prediction
Erik ten Hag gets huge Man Utd fitness boost as star makes unexpected return to training
Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has claimed that Erik ten Hag will not end the season as Manchester United boss. The Dutchman has come under increased pressure this year after an underwhelming start to the season and the imminent arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is set to oversee the sporting side of the club after purchasing a 25 per cent stake.
United sit sixth in the Premier League table with just 13 goals from 12 games and are bottom of their Champions League group. Ten Hag has quelled recent questions over his future with back-to-back 1-0 league wins over Luton and Fulham, but Enrique believes that United will begin next season with a new head coach at the helm.
“I do not think Erik ten Hag will finish this season at Manchester United,” Enrique told Grosvenor Sport. “If they do keep him it will be because they are wanting to stick with a long-term project and they believe that he can change things. But many players within the club are already against him.
“Raphael Varane is against him and Ten Hag has done a couple of things which haven’t gone down well with Jadon Sancho, Antony and Cristiano Ronaldo in the past. All these situations have arisen in a short period of time because he still hasn’t been at the club for that long.”

United’s dressing room has appeared fractured at times during Ten Hag’s era and his latest decision to keep Varane out of the team in favour of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans has prompted rumours that the ex-Real Madrid star could depart Old Trafford.
Enrique has insisted that United’s squad “would be happy if Ten Hag was sacked” as he feels that the Dutchman has already lost his dressing room and it is only a matter of time until he is shown the door.

“I think he has lost the dressing room,” Enrique added. “I’m not sure how long Manchester United will keep him for but I don’t think they have any chance of making the top four this season.
“The players should still go out and perform regardless, but it’s true that when you like the manager you play better for them. You want to win for them as well as for yourself and the fans.
“I don’t believe that this is the case at Manchester United. I actually think that the players would be happy if Ten Hag was sacked. They want someone else and they don’t believe that he is the right man. I don’t think he has the backing of many players in the dressing room anymore – he’s lost it.”
