Man Utd presented with incredible swap deal chance as Sancho ‘proposal made’

Man Utd's five worst decisions since Erik ten Hag took over

Manchester United may be handed a golden opportunity to offload Jadon Sancho with the view of suffering a minuscule loss on his transfer fee in January, according to reports. Sancho’s Old Trafford career looks over as Erik ten Hag continues to freeze the 23-year-old out of his plans as a disciplinary measure.

Ten Hag has excluded Sancho from his last eight matchday squads. After the first, the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal on September 3, the latter called his manager a liar on social media for claiming he was absent due to training levels.

Sancho’s refusal to apologise during the September international break escalated the row, prompting Ten Hag to banish him from his first-team squad.

The United No 25 has trained at the academy centre at Carrington since, leaving dark clouds of uncertainty looming over his future at the club.

The longer Sancho refuses to fall back in line under Ten Hag, the prospect of a January exit grows ever larger.

And United may have found an enticing pathway to get Sancho off the books and recoup a large chunk of the £73million paid to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

According to The Sun, Juventus are lining up an approach to help him escape Old Trafford in the winter transfer window.

The Serie A giants would reportedly want United to contribute toward half of Sancho’s £375,000-a-week wages during his stay in Turin.

But it’s claimed that they will offer a significant incentive in return by lining up a deal to make the move permanent for £60m next summer.

That would represent a £13m loss just two years after he arrived as one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards in the same conversation as Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

But given his underwhelming form since landing at Old Trafford and the explosive nature of his falling out with Ten Hag, United are bound to be interested in securing such a sizable fee.

When the Red Devils reportedly opened the door to a potential Saudi Arabia switch in the dying embers of the summer transfer window, they were claimed to have quoted Al Ettifaq £50m in a loan-to-buy deal.

The Sun report claims that Dortmund are also interested, but Sancho isn’t keen on a return to his former club after spending four years in the Bundesliga.

While Juventus circle, United could weigh up a swap proposal amid Ten Hag’s reported interest in Old Lady winger Federico Chiesa.

He is said to be valued at around £52m and may be viewed as a natural replacement for Sancho.
