Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly refused two offers for young left-back Brandon Williams.
The 20-year-old impressed last season though has fallen down the Old Trafford pecking order following the arrival of Alex Telles.
Williams has played just six minutes of Premier League football this season and not even been in the squad for the past six league matches.
It has led to thoughts that he could depart this month with the transfer window back open, though Solskjaer appears keen to keep his man.
Freelance journalist Jonathan Shrager has explained that Southampton wanted to loan Williams for 18 months.
Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in a permanent deal, though neither will be happening.
It’s claimed that Solskjaer refused both offers, potentially leaving Williams’ future up in the air.
There are also reports that Newcastle have agreed a deal in principle to sign Williams on loan, though nothing is confirmed.
Solskjaer had said last month on Williams’ future: “Brandon has done really well since he came into the team.

“He had a slow start to the season for different reasons. I think he’s now coming back to himself. I can see more Brandon being Brandon again.
“I’ve enjoyed seeing him, I’ve enjoyed him more in training. He’s played a couple of 23s games, so he’s been more involved.
“That’s something we’ll look at in January but we highly rate Brandon so whoever’s interested they’re not wrong.”
Williams may get an opportunity as United take on Watford in the FA Cup on Saturday.
First, Solskjaer prepares his side for a League Cup semi-final clash with rivals Manchester City on Wednesday.
