Man Utd could replace Casemiro with Liverpool target Andre who ‘loves’ him
Should Man Utd sell Casemiro? | Football Digest
Manchester United could replace Casemiro with 22-year-old Brazil international Andre. The young star is currently plying his trade for Fluminense in his homeland but has been linked with a move to Europe during the January transfer window, with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham also in the running to secure his services.
United shelled out a whopping £70million to land Casemiro from Real Madrid after Erik ten Hag had taken over as boss last summer. The midfielder enjoyed a dazzling maiden campaign at Old Trafford as he helped the Red Devils win the Carabao Cup, reach the FA Cup final and secure a third-place Premier League finish.
But at the age of 31, his levels appear to be dropping. And the 75-time Brazil international has struggled to assert the same influence on his team as he managed last season.
According to talkSPORT, United are open to offers for Casemiro and would use the money to help fund an Old Trafford rebuild. And the star is being targeted for a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.

ESPN Brasil have reported that Andre could take Casemiro’s place in the Red Devils team if the latter does indeed depart the north west. And after hearing about United’s interest, Andre was quick to reveal his affection for his international team-mate.
“I didn’t know about [the United interest],” he explained. “And I also don’t think anything came of it. We’re in November, there’s the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, there’s the World Cup. But I’m very happy.
“Casemiro is a guy who has a huge career. I try to talk to him a lot when I’m with the national team – he’s a person who gives me a lot of advice. He’s a great leader and all I can do is continue playing well. I’m happy with all these surveys and comments.”

Andre helped Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores final earlier this month as his side defeated Argentinian rivals Boca Juniors after extra time. And ahead of that showdown he addressed the speculation around his future as he told Globo Esporte: “I think every player one day dreams of playing for a big club in Europe, in a big league.
“But I decided to keep my word because [Fluminense manager Fernando] Diniz told me that he wanted me here until the end of the year. I told him that, regardless of what happened, I would be there until the end of the season. It was a very difficult decision to make.”
