Man Utd battle Tottenham as Arsenal make Tomiyasu U-turn and Chelsea want Davies
Seven Man Utd transfers Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants answers for as trio set for January exits
The January transfer window opens in just over a month but plenty of Premier League clubs are hard at work already to ensure that they can make the best possible moves this winter. Arsenal have reportedly sealed their first mid-season signing by turning David Raya’s loan into a permanent move and plenty more transfers are set to take place.
Having won the number one jersey from Aaron Ramsdale, Raya has endured a mixed start to life at the Emirates but firmly remains Mikel Arteta’s first choice and his backing has seen the Gunners move to sign the Spanish stopper on a permanent deal.
Chelsea have been the Premier League’s biggest spenders since Todd Boehly and co took over at Stamford Bridge. It is unlikely that they would turn their nose up at potential deals with Mauricio Pochettino’s side hoping to take the next step and challenge for the top four this season.
Manchester United are also locked in a battle to qualify for the Champions League and the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe could see his first public judgement come from the transfer window. The Brit’s deal to purchase 25 per cent of the club should be announced soon and he will oversee the sporting side of the Red Devils, who are in need of further investment.

Arsenal U-turn
Arsenal have reportedly made a U-turn on Mikel Arteta’s versatile defender Takehiro Tomiasyu.
The Japanese star was previously on a list of players that the club were willing to sell in the summer, but now is in line for a new contract.
He has proven his worth, especially at left-back so far this campaign and now attempts are underway to give him a bumper new deal.
United and Tottenham battle
Manchester United have entered the race for Everton defender and Tottenham transfer target Jarrad Branthwaite.
That’s according to TEAMTalk, who claim that the England Under-21 star tops the Red Devils’ defensive wishlist.
Whether they are prepared to meet Everton’s valuation remains to be seen but United have been impressed with his performances this season in the Premier League.
