Manchester United have confirmed that £72m summer signing Rasmus Hojlund will wear the No 11 shirt as he gets set to make his debut against Arsenal.
The striker is one of five players to be handed new shirt numbers for the season four of which have been summer signings and the other is Alejandro Garnacho who gives up his old number.
Garnacho has worn the No 49 since the beginning of last season, but he has been handed the No 17 for the 2023-24 season following the departure of Fred.
The No 11 shirt which Hojlund will take up was last worn by Mason Greenwood, who has left for LaLiga club Getafe on a season-long loan.
Other players to wear the famous No 11 shirt in the past include Ryan Giggs, George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton and in recent years, the likes of Anthony Martial and Adnan Januzaj.
