MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea have joined Manchester City in the race for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The 21-year-old Frenchman is regarded as one of the best youngsters in the game after impressing at the Groupama Stadium over the past 18 months.
City saw first hand what a player he is when the Ligue 1 side beat them 2-1 at the Etihad in the Champions League last month.
Ndombele has broken into Didier Deschamps’s France team this season, and is progress has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League.
United and Chelsea both had eyes on him against Hoffenheim in the Champions League on Tuesday with both sides sending scouts.
Ndombele spent last season on loan at Lyon from Amiens and made the switch permanent in the summer.
Tottenham are also monitoring his situation, amid suggestions he could cost in excess of £55million.
Box-to-box midfielder Ndombele was on the north Londoners’ radar during the summer and they had a £40million bid rejected, according to claims in France.
He has enhanced his reputation further this term.
