Liverpool release new 2019-20 home kit as Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Co show off 1980s-inspires strip as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain takes fans behind the scenes

Liverpool have released their new 2019-20 home kit which is reminiscent of the strip that the successful Reds teams wore in the 1980s.

Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Alisson and Naby Keita were pictured showing off the new kit.

Each jersey has been inscribed with Liverpool’s most successful manager, Bob Paisley’s signature on the inside of the neck.

The kit is a throwback to the strip between 1982 and 1984 where the sponsor was crown paints.

This will be the last kit designed by sponsor New Balance as their contract with the club expires at the end of next season.

Liverpool remain in discussions with Nike and Adidas over a new kit deal that would shatter the current Premier League record.

Sportsmail reported last December how the league leaders, whose current £45million per season contract with New Balance expires in June 2020, were keeping their options open about finding a new supplier.

Anfield officials believe they can secure terms that would surpass the £750m package that Manchester United have with Adidas. The club stress, however, they are not yet close to striking an agreement.
