Liverpool predicted XI v Fulham as Jurgen Klopp restores ‘super important’ star
Jurgen Klopp previews Liverpool's clash with Fulham
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp can restore his first-choice starting 11 to face Fulham after resting several key stars for the midweek Europa League victory over LASK. Klopp’s biggest dilemma will be whether to use the ‘super important’ Darwin Nunez or continue with Cody Gakpo, who struck twice in Europe on Thursday. Here is how Express Sport thinks Liverpool could line up at Anfield.
Goalkeeper: Kelleher
Alisson Becker’s injury is set to hand Caoimhin Kelleher a rare Premier League start. The Irishman has made only five appearances in the top-flight, instead making his name in the domestic cup competitions.
Kelleher can give Klopp a headache with a good performance against Fulham.
Defenders: Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez
Andy Robertson’s injury will likely give Gomez a chance to impress at left-back. Kostas Tsimikas struggled against Manchester City last weekend – while Gomez performed well against LASK.
Virgil van Dijk’s inclusion will be one of six changes made to the rotated team that played on Thursday. Konate and Gomez could be the only defenders that keep their places.

Midfielders: Mac Allister, Jones, Szoboszlai
Klopp’s summer overhaul has given him the luxury of being able to change his entire midfield for Liverpool’s Europa League fixtures. Endo Wataru, Ryan Gravenberch and Harvey Elliott started in midweek, allowing the Reds’ first choice trio to have a much-needed rest.
Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai will likely be restored into the middle of the pitch. Gravenberch is beginning to thrive at Liverpool after his summer move, giving Klopp another headache.

Forwards: Salah, Nunez, Diaz
Klopp suggested on Friday that he will continue with Nunez in the middle of his front three, despite Gakpo’s two goals against LASK. in an ominous warning for Gakpo, the German insisted that he has ‘no choice’ in the position, hinting that Nunez was now his first-choice centre-forward in the Premier League.
“Darwin is in a top moment and that didn’t change, super-important for us. That he didn’t start [on Thursday] has nothing to do with anything else. Now Cody scored twice, fantastic,” Klopp said.
“Does that mean he has to play the next five games in a row? Other players score as well. It is not about that and Cody doesn’t expect [that] now because of that.
“They have to score, that’s the job, that’s what they want, but it is not that I have sleepless nights now and don’t know who to start. It’s not that much a choice, to be honest.”
