Liverpool keeping close tabs on Sancho after he leaves Man Utd with egg on face

Liverpool are reportedly keeping close tabs on Jadon Sancho as they look to beat rivals Manchester United to the transfer in the summer window.

England international Sancho was very close to joining the Red Devils last summer before United were priced out of a deal by Dortmund.

The Bundesliga club made it clear they wanted Man United to make a sensible bid before a self-imposed deadline, which the Red Devils missed.

Dortmund swiftly closed the door on a Sancho sale, extending the Englishman's contract to rubber stamp their stance.

United are expected to go back in for Sancho at the end of the season.

But it seems they're no longer alone in a pursuit for the winger with Liverpool now monitoring Sancho ahead of the summer window.

According to the Que Golazo podcast, Jurgen Klopp's Reds are keeping a very close eye on Sancho and are considering making a £110million swoop when the time comes.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in contact with Ed Woodward about putting up the money to sign Sancho, but reports from Germany back in July suggested cash may not be enough.

German publication Kicker claimed that Sancho liked the idea of moving to Liverpool as he feels he's more likely to win silverware on Mersesyide, leaving Man United, who have made their admiration for the Englishman known, with egg on their face.

It's not clear whether Sancho will sign for United or Liverpool or whether he'll return to the Premier League at all, for that matter. But it does appear certain he'll leave Dortmund.

Like last summer the transfer story is set to contain many twists and turns.
