Leeds launch audacious transfer swoop for PSG star Julian Draxler

Leeds United are reportedly looking to sign PSG star Julian Draxler this summer.

The Whites are back in the Premier League this season for the first time since 2004 having won the Championship last time out.

Rodrigo and Robin Koch have made a summer switch to Elland Road while Helder Costa made his loan move from Wolves permanent.

Boss Marcelo Bielsa is yet to sign a new deal though Leeds are remaining busy in this summer’s transfer window.

And RMC Sport report that the Whites have begun an audacious attempt to sign German forward Draxler.

The 26-year-old has one year remaining on his contract at Ligue 1 giants PSG, though the report adds that Draxler has 'not responded positively' to the approach.

That’s despite previous reports that PSG want to sell Draxler, who started both of Germany’s Nations League games in the past week.

On his player’s future, Germany boss Joachim Loew said: "For Julian, at his age, it would be important to take a step to find regular playing time.

“It's important for every player to be in action week after week. The question to ask is will PSG let him go or not.

“When he was called upon, he had very good moments and can always play at this level but it’s important for Julian to be on the pitch week after week.”

Arsenal have been regularly linked with a move for Draxler, who has spent three years in France, where he has played as a winger, a central midfielder and as a No 10.
