Lampard says he will not speak to Chelsea's wantaway stars over exit

Frank Lampard says he will not speak to Chelsea’s wantaway stars over Stamford Bridge exit with Olivier Giroud and Co looking to leave in January

  • Olivier Giroud has signalled his desire to leave Chelsea in January
  • Left-back Marcos Alonso is also said to be a target for Atletico Madrid
  • Winger Pedro is another player who has seen limited minutes this season
  • But Frank Lampard insists he wants to add and not lose players from the squad

Frank Lampard says he is not interested in discussing potential exits with any of his unsettled players until January.

There is likely to be further competition for places at Chelsea next month after they had their transfer ban lifted.

That potentially spells bad news for the likes of Olivier Giroud, Marcos Alonso and winger Pedro who have already been struggling for game time this season.

Olivier Giroud heads a list of Chelsea players looking for an exit given their limited playing time

Giroud wants to leave Chelsea when the transfer window re-opens having started just two games this season and is said to be interesting Crystal Palace but Lampard said: ‘No [I haven’t spoken to him about his future].’

Asked if he was planning to do so, Lampard added: ‘No. All the players that are here I won’t have any talk about January until we get to January. Everybody.

‘I am happy for him to stay, as with every player in the squad I want them to be here for Chelsea, have the right professionalism and right desire to be here.

Marcos Alonso has also been frozen out by Lampard and is said to be an Atletico Madrid target

Pedro has also seen limited playing time this season and would relish a return to Spain

‘He has shown me that in his training every day this season. That’s what I am happy with.’

Alonso is also the subject of supposed interest from Atletico Madrid, while Pedro is also looking to leave the club after limited playing time.
