Julian Alvarez has proven to fans he didn't lose a tooth during Manchester City's 6-1 mauling of Bournemouth on Saturday.
The World Cup winner appeared to have a gap in his teeth as he and his team-mates celebrated their second goal against the Cherries, and covered his mouth when Bernardo Silva pointed it out to him. But Alvarez has since clarified that 'the gap' was just a bit of blood.
Taking to Instagram after the game, the 23-year-old uploaded a toothy selfie, revealing a perfectly intact row of gnashers. "Everything is in order," he wrote. "It was only [blood emoji]."

Alvarez failed to get on the scoresheet, as did Erling Haaland, much to the annoyance of Fantasy Football managers – despite City's dominant victory at the Etihad. Summer signing Jeremy Doku, who provided four assists on the day, opened the scoring after half-an-hour – and then the floodgates opened.
Silva put City 2-0 up three minutes later, and four minutes after that Manuel Akanji made it 3-0. Phil Foden added a fourth mid-way through the second half before Luis Sinisterra pulled one back for the hapless visitors.

Silva then grabbed his second of the game on 83 minutes to restore City's four-goal cushion, and Nathan Ake completed the rout with two minutes left on the clock by netting a sixth. The win saw Pep Guardiola's side leapfrog Tottenham into first place in the Premier League, though Ange Postecoglou's men will go top again with a win over Chelsea on Monday night.

Alvarez has been in decent form this season, having featured in every single one of City's matches so far. He's netted seven goals in all competitions, and needs just 10 more to match last season's tally of 17. The former River Plate man has taken on more of a senior role in the side this season, with Guardiola using him as an attacking midfielder in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne.
